Navy over Army (again!)

Great news from the Skipper, Captain Mark Laughton, this morning:

Gents,

Passing along to you that Navy remains in control of the Keg! I can retire now and hold my head high knowing that for the last 3 years the midshipmen held the line.

Scores from yesterday’s matches – Soccer: Army-0, Navy-3 and Football: Army 12, Navy-13

Local MOAA supported the midshipmen and cadets with a pizza party following the games.

AJ, Scott Leftwich came with the MOAA folks and passed his regards to you.

Bravo Zulu lads!

GREETINGS!

Remember the first time you stood in formation and heard the words “Pass in Review?” Then remember how you felt when you heard those words for the last time at the last Spring Review? You headed out to sea, post-graduate education, Pensacola or Quantico. Most of us never looked back to thank the Vanderbilt NROTC staff for everything they did to shape us as Naval and Marine Officers. The tradition of excellence in academics and military preparation continues today and now it is our turn to help.
First, join the Vanderbilt NROTC Alumni Association by e-mailing us your name, year of graduation and current status at vunrotc@gmail.com. Once you are registered, you will be put on our e-mail list to receive information about unit activities. If you live in the Nashville area, or if you are passing through town, it’s a great opportunity to show support for the young men and women who have volunteered (just like you did) to serve.
Second, volunteer to help in the recruiting effort. Sign up to help with candidates that are thinking about coming to Vanderbilt and qualify for Navy ROTC. Introduce young men and women to the concept of service and tell them what a difference it made for you.
Third, target your donations to Vanderbilt so that the NROTC Unit can receive the benefit. You can make that happen by clicking the link in the sidebar - select "Other" on the line that reads "Select which area you would like to support" and designate the gift for NROTC.
Our objective, as an Alumni Association, is to see that the proud tradition of Vanderbilt NROTC continues to grow - you can make that happen.
Finally, if you have sea stories to tell, shipmates to shout out for or just want to be heard, send us an e-mail and we will get it posted on this website. We are here for you.
